In particular, I wish to thank the TRF District 2250 and RC Askøy and RC Sotra (DG) who have sacrificed to raise funds in order to support Nakuru Hospice with drugs and other supplies to mitigate the spread of the disease as well as feed patients. This enabled 140 families to have food for at least one months depending on the number of family members in a family. We were able to buy them 1 kg salt, 2kg sugar, 2kg rice, 2kg green grams, 250g tea leaves, 1liter of cooking oil, 4kg maize flour and 2 bars of soap. Other items the patients got are reusable face masks.
We received Kes 811,582.00 and so far we have spent Kes 544,602.00. There is a balance of Kes 266,980.00. We therefore request for more time to end of September to purchase additional drugs with this money. Attached is an excell sheet of how funds have been used and scanned copy of invoices and payments.
We appreciate the effort of Eli Lexander and committee members who have been in touch with us in this initiative, which made the donation a huge success. I further wish to recognize the relevant and motivating and kind words that she has always said to me has been very encouraging.
Your Support and contribution reaffirmed our belief in RC Askøy and RC Sotra as people of action and sensitive to the welfare of communities in Kenya. Through this letter, I request that you pass our word of appreciation to all Rotarians in these Clubs.
